Fan loses beer head, but saves his own dodging foul ball (VIDEO)

An alert fan at Marlins Park was doubly lucky after a screaming foul ball off the bat of Casey McGehee took the head off of his beer — but not the top of his scalp — in mighty a close call Sunday.

With brewski in hand while watching McGehee's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning from an alley between two sections of the grandstand, the fan was nearly decapitated when the ball ricocheted past his head, missing it by less than a foot.

But he still had most of the beer left.

Fast reflexes and quick with a smile — that's a good combination.

Rajai Davis' amazing leap robs Yankees McGehee of a home run

Toronto Blue Jays  left-fielder Rajai Davis made a spectacular leap against the left field wall at the Rogers Centre to rob New York Yankees third-baseman Casey McGehee of a sure home run on Sunday.

While the ball is in flight,  Davis does a stutter-step, then patiently watches and waits before climbing the wall about four feet to make the grab.  It is a vision of perfect timing.

The best part of the video is the view of the pitchers in the Blue Jays bullpen, who see the ball appear about 12 inches above the 10-foot wall, then suddenly get snagged by the 5-foot-9 Davis' glove.

Spud Webb couldn't get that much air.

The remarkable seventh-inning play couldn't have come at a better time for the Jays.  The Yankees had been chipping away at the home team's 10-1 lead.  McGehee's failed blast came with Curtis Granderson on second and, after Davis' cat-like play, the Yankees tacked on three more runs to make it 10-7.
