Antrel Rolle and Greg Olsen take out sideline cameramen together

There was a scary moment towards the end of the New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game when Cam Newton's pass sailed over tight end Greg Olsen's head while he was being chased down by defensive back Antrel Rolle.

Both players rumbled into the sidelines taking down a couple of cameramen, respectively.

Rolle tried jumping over a  photographer on the ground and caught his left knee on the camera right before he grabbed a woman and inadvertently pulled her down with him.

Olsen just plowed into an NFL Network cameraman who went flying but gave us an incredibly realistic close up  shot of what it's like to be taken out by a 250-pound tight end.

Rolle lacerated his knee and had to be carted off the field for x-rays.  The cameraman who took the charge finished the game.

Soccer player tosses grenade off field right before it explodes

If you thought soccer hooligans were scary you might not want to watch this video.

During a local club match in Iran, an object is picked up by a soccer player tidying the pitch and, right after he casually tosses it to the sidelines, it explodes.

That object happened to be a live grenade that was tossed by a fan in the stands.

The player apparently didn't know what he was picking up but, if he did, Iranian soccer players are a lot cooler-headed than I thought.



Police called off the match and are investigating.  It looks like no one was hurt.

And NFL players are worried about bounties.

Parcells blames Coughlin for kneel-down controversy

The Big Tuna has spoken and he says, Sorry Charlie, it was Tom Coughlin — not Greg Schiano — who was at fault for the big kneel-down controversy at the end the Giants-Buccaneers game Sunday.

Talking on Sirius/XM radio yesterday, former New York Giants head coach Bill Parcells laid the blame on his former assistant Coughlin for getting defensive about Schiano not submitting during the victory formation on the last play of the game.

"Well, I've seen it before.  I don't take exception to it," said Parcells.

While Parcells was critical of Coughlin scolding the former Rutgers coach at midfield after the the Buccaneers bum-rushed Eli Manning, he thinks the Giants quarterback is more than tough enough to get pushed on his backside.

"I just think he's a terrific player," Parcells told Chris "Mad Dog" Russo.  "Actually, I don't know Eli very well but I did run into him this winter after they won the Super Bowl.  And I told him that his performance in San Francisco where he took ... one of the worst beatings that I've ever seen a quarterback take in that game and he hung in there 'til the end."

"And I just told him that based on that performance alone he's won me over as a supporter full time," he said.  "It's like a fighter that keeps getting up,  You gotta root for him."

On Coughlin's televised on-field confrontation with the rookie NFL head coach Schiano after the issue, Parcells — a big Coughlin supporter — was less enthused.

"I think I would have handled it a little differently if I was on the other side," he said.  "I may have not called attention to it at that time and maybe made a phone call a little later in the next week."

Chad Johnson enrolled in anger management classes

Chad Johnson is finally coming to grips with his demons.

After getting cut by the Miami Dolphins, following his domestic-abuse arrest for allegedly head-butting his then-wife Evelyn Lozada, Johnson is now without a team, divorced and hoping to get the train back on the tracks.

The six-time All-Pro receiver has assessed his life and career in the hope he can one last shot at redemption.

Johnson's regrets were evident when when he somberly admitted his pain and his plans during an interview that aired on Showtime's Inside the NFL.

"I'm taking classes, anger management classes," he said.  "I'm trying to find out how I can channel my anger when I'm in situations to where I would pop off.  How can I defuse those situations?"

The 34-year old knows the market for a self-promoting wide out with dwindling numbers and a posse with more lawyers than fans is not enticing to any NFL team.  Just ask Plaxico Burress and Terrell Owens.

"When you get a humble Chad Johnson that has lost everything and has to work his way back up, that's a big deal.  Because you're not getting that same individual, you're not getting that same fun guy ... I gotta prove a point," he said.  "That's the scariest thing in the world to have someone that has that drive."

Johnson still thinks he has some gas left in his tank and believes the only reason he was cut by the Dolphins was for the arrest and not his performance in training camp.

"That was the reason.  There was no need to blow smoke up my ass, you know what I mean?" he said. "First off, I lost two things I love, honestly.  Football, I love.  You know that,  And you know the way I play the game, I enjoy it, I have fun with it, you know?  And being married, being a husband, a lover, it was an honor. You know what I mean?  And I lost that.  And you know the saying,'You never know what you have until it's gone?'

"And now I finally know what they mean."

Add Hakeem Nicks to list of Giants who will miss Panthers game

Add another big name to the list of New York Giants players who won't be suiting up Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.

Week 2 NFC Player of the Week Hakeem Nicks — coming off a 10-catch, 199 yard game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — will join Ahmad Bradshaw, David Diehl and Domenik Hixon on the will not play list.

Nicks, who broke a bone in his right foot this offseason, was originally listed as questionable for the game but was later downgraded to ruled out.  He did not practice yesterday, which coach Tom Coughlin said was a planned rest day.  The wide receiver had been playing through pain in that foot but it was aggravated in Sunday's game, when Buccaneers safety Mark Barron accidentally stepped on the injured foot.

Coughlin had already announced that the other three offensive players would not be playing in Game 3  earlier in the day.  Bradshaw has a neck injury, Diehl suffered an injury to an MCL and Hixon was hit in the head and has not been cleared to play because of the NFL's concussion protocol.

Nick's absence in the Giants lineup is a huge blow to the offense because No. 3 receiver Hixon is already out. Victor Cruz is a capable No. 1 replacement but that only leaves talented but untested Ramses Barden, Rueben Randle and Jerrell Jernigan.

Giants rule out Bradshaw, Hixon and Diehl for Thursday against Panthers

The three important New York Giants players Tom Coughlin was hoping "against all odds" would be able to recover fast enough to play against the Carolina Panthers Thursday night have officially been ruled out of the game .

Lost in all of the victory formation controversy was the fact that the Giants lost three critical parts of their offense during the team's 41-34 comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday and they won't be on the field for the Week 3 game.

Coughlin said the short week didn't allow RB Ahmad Bradshaw, WR Domenik Hixon, and OT David Diehl enough time to recover, though even a regular week probably wouldn't have been enough either, according to The Star-Ledger.

The head coach didn't provide a lot of details on the extent of the injuries but said the trio would not be suiting up.

Coughlin did confirm that Diehl injured an MCL injury in his right knee and Bradshaw suffered a neck injury but would not elaborate on either.  He did acknowledge that Hixon had suffered a head injury and had to go through the NFL's concussion protocol — which is difficult to do in three days.

The Giants will likely go with the same replacements they made Sunday when each player was taken off the field.  Andre Brown — who filled in admirably with 71 yards — will be the featured running back in place of Bradshaw.  Sean Locklear will switch to right tackle and Will Beatty will start at left.  Ramses Barden will become the No. 3 wide receiver.

Ex-porn star says Gronkowski's poor play was because he was 'thinking of me'

Rob Gronkowski may be having more fun than anyone in the NFL these days — and has the photos to prove it.  Ever since he was video-taped dancing shirtless following the New England Patriots loss to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, Gronk's life has been a non-stop headline in the gossip pages.

Now Britney Maclin, the ex-adult film star, who caused controversy last year when he posed shirtless — as usual — with her during a Patriots' bye week, has resurfaced and is taking the rap for the tight end's poor play last Sunday in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

A scantily-clad Maclin posted a photo to her Twitter account early Wednesday morning of her and Gronkowski in a series of Gronk-related tweets.

"I pic of gronk of i [sic] that no one has ever seen lol — naughty," Maclin posted early this morning.

The blond party girl took the blame (credit?) for Gronkowski's dropped touchdown passes in the Patriots' 20-18 loss to the Cardinals.

"Gronk told me he dropped those balls bc he was thinking of me!  Gotta get back in his life," Maclin tweeted with a smile emoticon.

However a subsequent tweet indicated that Maclin may have been the victim of a prank: "OMG! I'm partying & these Boston took my phone so they could post those pics, [expletive deleted] This is gonna be drama."

Gronkowski's off-the-field antics have earned him a reprimand from the Patriots before.

The tight end owned up to his questionable play as his own fault.  "I got that penalty at the end holding that guy" he said.  "You can't have things like that happen."
