Nets’ Plumlee douses waitress in beer during game (VIDEO)

Mason Plumlee probably won't be invited to anyone's beer bash in the near future after the Brooklyn Nets center ran into a Verizon Center waitress and knocked a full tray of brewskis all over the poor woman.

During his team's 114-77 loss to the Washington Wizards Saturday, Plumlee gently ran into courtside waitress Deila Barr while he was chasing down a loose ball.

"I just kind of see a ball coming towards me, and you can see me kind of kicking it out of the way so I don't trip," recalled Barr. "Then all of a sudden, I just see this giant white mass coming toward me."

That would be the 6-10 Plumlee.

After the collision, the game was stopped for a few minutes so the mess could be cleaned up. Not so Plumlee, who went on playing, smelling like an old hobo.

Fans who got soaked were given bags of Wizards swag and Barr got a new shirt to replace the one she was wearing.

Wizards point guard John Wall befriended a six-year-old cancer patient named Miyah Talamaque-Nelson last season.

When Wall — who helped the little girl meet her favorite singer Nicki Minaj — found out Miyah died on Saturday of Burkitt's Lymphoma, an inspired Wall went out and scored 26 points with 17 assists in leading Washington to a double-OT win over the Celtics as a tribute Monday night.

It was a game to remember — for a little girl he'll never forget.

After the game, Wall was left speechless and in tears attempting to talk about the little girl.

Wizards' Drew Gooden fined $15,000 for 'unnecessary act’

Drew Gooden has been hit with a $15,000 fine for committing what the league called an "unnecessary act" against the Lakers' Nick Young.

The league said Gooden "clamped Los Angeles Lakers forward/guard Nick Young's arm and attempted to throw him to the floor."

The scrap occurred in Friday's game between the Wizards and Lakers with only about two minutes remaining. Gooden was assessed a flagrant two foul and ejected on the play. Jordan Hill who stepped in for Young was also ejected, but not fined.

The Wizards have been a thorn in the Nets' side all season and, on Saturday, this play from John Wall was more of a nail — as in final nail in the coffin of Washington's 101-94 win.

The Wiz led by five with just over 30 seconds remaining, thanks to a huge game off the bench from Drew Gooden, who scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter — when they finished a 14-3 run to end the game.

On this play, Joe Johnson misses the jumper, and Wall comes up with the loose ball, splits two defenders near midcourt and finishes with the slam that put the exclamation point on the Washington victory.

As the final seconds ticked off on a win that completed a season sweep of Brooklyn and moved the Wizards into sole possession of fifth place in the Eastern Conference, Wall held the ball screaming, “This is my city!”

Mike Woodson ready to 'punch' panic out of J.R. Smith

If you thought all of the talk of "panicking" from J.R. Smith has affected Mike Woodson's sense of humor — think again.

The Knicks head coach certainly didn’t enjoy some of Smith’s public negativity after recent Knicks losses to Indiana and Washington, but is taking it in stride.

After the heartbreaking loss against the Pacers Wednesday, Smith said: "Like you say, it’s too early to panic, but me, personally, I’m panicking. I don’t like this."

In Washington, Smith said he felt every possession is starting to feel packed with “pressure’’ and the team isn’t having fun and “overanalyzing.’’

When asked if he was irritated by Smith’s panic remark, Woodson said: “To be sitting here after 12 games talking about I’m in a panic stage, I might need to punch him out and get it out of his thought process.”

Woodson then smirked, but it wasn’t meant entirely as a big joke.

"I don't like players feeling that way," Woodson said before Monday night's loss to Portland when Smith scored only six points. "It's a long season. I've been around long enough to see where things can turn awfully fast."

Remember ... Woodson did have a smirk on his face. Let's see how long it lasts.

Gilbert Arenas dumps on haters with $100 bills as toilet paper

It looks like former NBA enigma Gilbert Arenas has traded in his Charmin for the rough stuff after posting a picture on Instagram showing a toilet roll filled with $100 bills.

The picture was accompanied by a caption reading: "Money don't change ppl..the lack of money does..never seen a rich person rob a bank..while u hate on my life I'm wiping my ass with this sh*t here haha."

The so-called "hating" on his life refers to the fact the three-time All-Star did not play a single game last season — but still picked up a $20 million-plus paycheck.

Despite not playing, Arenas remains the the NBA's third highest earner after collecting $111 million for a six-year deal signed with the Washington Wizards in 2008.

He was then traded to Orlando in 2010 and was let go by the Magic in 2011 before joining the Shangai Sharks. So, when not playing in China, he is basically being paid eight figures to sit.

Speaking to HipHollywood in September, Arenas said: "I don't need the NBA money. I've had enough of it."

I guess for now he'll just have to dump on his detractors.

Trayvon Martin's mother, brother visited Knicks locker room before game

Carmelo Anthony said he was honored to have Trayvon Martin's mother and brother visit the New York Knicks locker room before Friday night's game against the Washington Wizards.

The Knicks forward invited Sybrina Fulton and Trayvon's older brother, Jahvaris Fulton, 21, to the team's locker room in Madison Square Garden before the Knicks victory, according to the New York Post.  Martin's family was in New York to do an interview with Anderson Cooper.

The unpublicized meeting was set up by Anthony.

"It was a blessing and an honor," said Anthony.  "We all know the tragedy that happened.  Bringing them to the locker room in the back, meeting all the players, meeting the coaches.  We had no media there.  It was something I wanted to do.  I lost my sister last year so I know how it feels."

The low key affair didn't last long but meant a lot to the players.

"He didn't even want to stay for the game," said Anthony.  "He wanted to see 'The Lion King.'  But for them to be there, it meant a lot."
