Stanford WR Francis Owusu makes the Catch of the Year (VIDEO)

Stanford Cardinal wide receiver Francis Owusu may have made the catch of the year in college football Thursday night.

In the beginning of the third quarter at Stanford Stadium, the Cardinal ran a trick play against UCLA that ended with one of the most bizarre receptions of all time.

The 41-yard score from quarterback Kevin Hogan to Owusu helped put Stanford up 42-17 as it went on to a 56-35 rout of the Bruins.

Owusu's behind-the-back-of-a-defender catch has to be seen more than once to be believed.

Stanford players dressed as nerds after beating Oregon (PHOTO)

Chalk one up for the Jonathan Martins of the sports world.

Stanford already won the game with its physically dominating performance on both sides of the ball in the 26-20 win against the favored Oregon team. But some Stanford players gave fans a memorable reminder of what the school really represents in their postgame media presser.

When asked why the players were wearing nerd glasses, Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan responded, "It's Stanford."

That impressive victory gave the Cardinal players the right to wear whatever they wanted. In the picture below David Lombardi captured Shayne Skov, A.J. Tarpley and Tyler Gaffney in their Skolnick, Lowell and Booger personas.

Passed out Washington State fan is covered in popcorn (GIF)

The only thing messier than Washington State's  55-17 loss against Stanford Saturday night was this fan's disheveled appearance at CenturyLink Field.

Nothing says Cougars football than a semi-passed out fan (with a Who cares? attitude) and a whole section to himself. And — even after after it looks like he's down for the count —the guy stirs slightly before attempting to shake the last remaining kernels of popcorn into his mouth and all over himself. All while still holding on to his little Cougars mask.

Clean-up in rows 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Maybe someone should give that guy a cup of coffee. Or don't they have a Starbucks in Seattle?
