LA Kings fans taunt Devils bench with 'Jersey Shore' heads

Los Angeles Kings fans got a little creative in taunting their New Jersey Devils opponents during Game 3 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals.

Behind the visiting team's bench, fans held up large cardboard heads of the cast members of the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore."

The gimmick might have worked after the Kings overwhelmed the Devils, 4-0 for a 3-0 series lead.  It looks like New Jersey will be doing more hand-wringing than fist-pumping leading up to Game 4.

There was no way the Devils players could avoid seeing the giant heads of The Situation, Pauly-D, J-Woww and the usually pint-sized Snooki being waved behind their bench.

Ronnie, Sammi Sweetheart, Vinny, Angelina or Deena were no where to be seen.

It was pretty funny to see the enormous heads bobbing up and down behind the players but, in reality, the Devils don't have any players from Jersey. Who knows if coach Peter DeBoer or the players even knew who they were.  Maybe if they held up giants heads of reality show stars from Stockholm or Moosejaw— they might have been in on the joke.

Anyway, kudos for the creativity.

If the Devils manage to pull out a victory in game 4, maybe New Jersey fans can make giant cutout  heads of the characters from "90210" or "The Real Housewives of Orange County?" I imagine closeups of those old broads would just be plain scary.

"Team Snooki Boxing" Introduces Her Fighters

The world was introduced to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's latest venture Team Snooki Boxing and the fighters she is promoting at a Manhattan saloon today.  The pint-sized reality star appeared at a press conference to promote the trio of Irish brothers who will fight down at the Jersey shore— more specifically— Atlantic City.

The pint-sized Snooki is used to having cameras in front of her, but it's usually at a club or brawling with women trying to steal her man.

Today, the star of MTV's highly-rated "Jersey Shore" sat in front of the press to introduce The Hyland Brothers or "the Irish Invasion" as they call themselves.


The three brothers— Patrick, Paul and Eddie— will headline a night of pro-boxing at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City on Saturday,  January 28.

It is the first time that three brothers, who are all Irish champions, have fought on the same card in America.

Only Paul and Patrick were at today's greet and meet.

Promoting this night of boxing is Snooki's first venture into the fight game.  The "guidette" has her jeweled fingers in a lot of businesses and maintains lines of everything from sandals to smart phone apps.

The team's logo even has a heart and  a pair of dangling boxing gloves hanging from her signature.

Asked if she has always had an interest in boxing, Snooki said she "liked all the Rocky movies."

The Dublin-raised Hyland brothers are all up-and-coming contenders.

Patrick "Pajo" Hyland (24-0), 11 KO's) will put his unblemished record on the line in a super featherweight fight against Manny Lucaro (26-8, 14 KO's).

Paul (20-2, 5 KO's) will face featherweight Rafael Lora (11-7, 5) and Eddie (16-1, 6 KO's) will face an undetermined opponent.

Snooki called them all "future champions."

The press conference was filled with more paparazzi than sports photographers and there was a mad rush to the poof-haired spitfire instead of the fighters when the group arrived.

Snooki answered only a few boxing questions before she fist-pumped and said she was through.

Still, that's publicity money can't buy.

Snooki Bringing Pro-Boxing Team To Atlantic City

Team Snooki Boxing will be making its debut this January 28 at—where else—the Jersey shore.

No, the meat-ball-sized reality star, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi,  won't be lacing up her own gloves but will be backing three Irish brothers ringside at Resorts Casino Hotel in the boardwalk city.

Here comes boxing's newest Don King in high heels and mini skirt.  Hey, she has the same poofed up hairstyle as the legendary promoter.

The star of MTV's highly-rated Jersey Shore announced her latest enterprise earlier this month on the New York sports show The Boomer and Carton Show finalized the date on Tuesday.

Snooki's team features a trio of Irish brothers who are all up-and-coming contenders.  No tomato paste cans in this group.

Patrick "Pajo" Hyland (24-0, 11 KO's) is a legitimate featherweight, Eddie Hyland (16-1, 6 KO's) is a super featherweight and Paul "Pauly" Hyland (26-2, 5 KO's) is a bantamweight.

Snooki's jewelery and hair gel probably weigh more than all three brothers put together.

Hailing from Dublin, the three brothers will headline what is being called "An Irish Invasion."

"We are incredibly excited to introduce The Hyland Brothers and Team Snooki Boxing.  We've seen what these boys can do, and expect nothing less than continued success here in the States," VP of Final round Promotions Mike Pascale said in a press release.

All three brothers will be bringing serious boxing skills to the ring.

Patrick is the Irish featherweight champion, Former- IBF Intercontinental Featherweight Champion, Intercontinental Super Featherweight Champion and WBF World Featherweight champion.

Eddie is the Former-Irish Super featherweight Champion and Paul is the Irish Super-Bantamweight Champion.

While Snooki will be in the trio's corner that night, none of the jealous, hair-pulling and clawing female rivals she is famous for scrumming with are not part of the undercard.

Now everyone do a fist pump and a shot.
