ABC cuts to ESPN anchors on iPads during Dabo Swinney interview after Clemson beat Notre Dame (VIDEO)

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was mixed up in a wild scene during postgame interview after his No. 12 Clemson held on in the pouring rain to beat No. 6 Notre Dame, 24-22 Saturday night.

Boasting about his team and dropping tidbits such as “BYOG,” which Swinney said stood for “bring your own guts,” the coach's passionate interview was cut short when the studio suddenly cut to the SportsCenter studio which awkwardly showed its two anchors quietly scrolling through their iPads as they prepared for the upcoming show — unaware they were live on air.

Here's the hilarious moment on video when viewers' television screens went from wet madness to library quiet in an instant:

All that was missing was the Jeopardy theme song.

But conspiracy theorists claim the jump wasn't so accidental and maybe Swinney's language got a little too salty for network TV or, mercy, he mentioned God.

Deadspin uncovered the missing footage and it was nothing more than Swinney simply answering a question about what he told his team at a specific point in the game.

ESPN senior director of PR, Kerri Potts, later clarified the technical difficulty in a tweet. 

"As a result of an error in TV transmission, we inadvertently missed 12 seconds of Dabo Swinney's postgame interview," Potts tweeted.  "We apologize."

On Thursday, the 4-star offensive tackle from Orlando, FL found a creative way to announce where he'll play in 2016.

The 6'4", 288-pound Brock Lesnar lookalike revealed his decision after pulling a 16,000-pound school bus over the logo over the school he chose.

Prince Shembo waived by Falcons for kicking, killing girfriend's dog: Report

The Atlanta Falcons have waived linebacker Prince Shembo after he was charged with aggravated animal cruelty Friday afternoon.

Police in suburban Gwinnett County say Shembo was charged after his ex-girlfriend's dog died from blunt force trauma last month. 

Within two hours of the felony charge, the Falcons cut ties with Shembo. He was released from custody shortly after posting $15,000 bond, jail records showed.

Denicia Williams called police April 19 to report that her former boyfriend had killed her Yorkie named Dior. Williams told them she had taken Dior to Shembo’s home at a Mall of Georgia apartment complex four days earlier, according to police.

At some point during her stay, Williams left Shembo and her dog unattended. When she returned, Dior was unresponsive, she told police.

Williams took the dog to Duluth Animal Hospital, where Dior died shortly after her arrival.

The following day, Shembo allegedly made comments to Williams about killing the dog, and she broke up with him, according to police.

A necropsy was conducted at Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, and tissue samples were sent to the University of Georgia for further testing, according to police. Dior had significant internal injuries and the cause of death was blunt force trauma, veterinarians determined.

The dog had a fractured rib, fractured liver, abdominal hemorrhage, thoracic hemorrhage, extensive bruising and hemorrhage in the muscles in her front leg and shoulders, head trauma, hemorrhage and edema in lungs, hemorrhage between the esophagus and trachea, and hemorrhage in the left eye with internal injuries, police said. Investigators believe Shembo kicked the dog.

The Falcons responded to the allegations right away, releasing an emailed statement late Friday afternoon.

“We are aware of the charges that have been filed against Prince Shembo,” the team said. “We are extremely disappointed that one of our players is involved in something like this. Accordingly, we have decided to waive Prince Shembo.”

The 23-year-old Shembo, who played at Notre Dame, was a fourth-round pick for the Falcons in 2014. He had 59 tackles in 16 games last season.

Longhorns are still college football's most valuable team: Report

Texas may be south of the Top-25 when it comes to the college football pollsters, but for the fifth straight year, the 8-and-4 Longhorns are still number one with the accountants.

The Longhorns football team is now worth $139 million, almost 20% more than any other team in the country, according to Forbes Magazine.

Texas has been college football’s most valuable team since 2009, when it took over the top-spot from  Notre Dame with a value of $119 million. The team’s unprecedented value is built on the back of the nation’s most dedicated fan base, which has helped Texas lead all schools in merchandise sales, secure the most lucrative school-specific TV deal and become the only college football team in history to cross $100 million in revenue, which the Longhorns have done for the last two seasons.

College football’s second-most valuable team in 2013 is Notre Dame, which rebounded to $117 million after suffering a down year. The 14% surge in value is mostly tied to the Fighting Irish “hosting” an additional home game (which was played in Chicago’s Soldier Field), providing support to academic programming that’s unmatched by any team in college football and qualifying for the BCS National Championship, which netted the school a unique $6.2 million payout.

Alabama has risen from sixth to third this year, with the Crimson Tide’s value up 15% to $110 million. It’s the first time an SEC team has cracked the top three since Georgia held the No. 3 spot in 2007. Alabama’s rise stems not only from the financial rewards of dominating on the field, where the Crimson Tide have won three of the last four BCS National Championships, but also the one-time payout it received for playing Michigan in a season-opening game at AT&T Stadium last year.

To determine college football’s most valuable teams, Forbes considers each team’s value to its athletic department, its university’s academic endeavors, its conference and its school’s local economy. Athletic value consists of football profit that is directed toward supporting non-revenue sports, like softball or gymnastics, while a team’s value to academics consists of money that supports football scholarships or other non-athletic programming, like faculty support, non-athletic scholarships or a library fund. Conference value consists of revenue generated for other conference teams by participating in a bowl game, and a team’s value to its local community consists of the direct spending injected by fans visiting the area on days of the team’s home games.

The Longhorns are still number two in Lone Star State football though. The Dallas Cowboys dwarf their college rivals with a value of an estimated $2.3 billion.

Following Texas, Notre Dame and Alabama, says Forbes, are LSU, Michigan, Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State and Nebraska.

Manti Te'o shows up at Maxim's Hot 100 party as No. 69's date

San Diego Chargers second-round draft pick Manti Te'o isn't letting that whole fake girlfriend hoax get him down.  The catfished NFL rookie might even be using it to his advantage.

Maxim magazine took a humorous shot at the former Notre Dame linebacker last week, ranking Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend, Lennay Kekua,  No. 69 in their annual "Hot 100" list.

The other night the men's magazine took the joke one step further, inviting Te'o to the Los Angeles party celebrating the list. To Te'o's credit, he didn't pass up the opportunity and appeared to be a good sport about the whole thing.

Maxim's editor-in-chief, Dan Bova, said he was "pleasantly surprised" that Te'o made an appearance.

"It seems like he has a good sense of humor about the whole thing," said Bova, "which I think is the best way to handle a situation like that."

Te'o made the scene and was even spotted with a number of real beauties.

Te'o's cyberspace hottie probably wasn't the only fake thing floating around the Hollywood party.

Te'o scores with some real ladies in Atlantic City

Manti Te'o's 40-yard dash time may need some work but the Notre Dame linebacker showed he still has some moves.

Te'o ran a dismal 4.82 at last week's NFL Scouting Combine, but it didn't take long for half-a-dozen 10's to put a smile back on his face.

The NFL prospect was in Atlantic City Friday night to accept the Maxwell Football's Club's Collegiate Player of the Year and Chuck Bednarik Collegiate Defensive Player of the Year awards at Harrah's Casino.

Te'o managed to avoid questions about being catfished in his fake online girlfriend hoax and even found a squad of pretty cheerleaders to help put the whole thing behind him.

By the way, Manti — these girls are real.

Suggs has no problem with Te'o joining Ravens team

Never mind being catfished, at least one NFL star doesn't even care if Manti Te'o floundered at the NFL Scouting Combine this week and would welcome the former Notre Dame star into his team's locker room.

Terrell Suggs of the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens was in New York City when TMZ asked the former-Defensive Player of the Year if it would be alright if the Ravens drafted the linebacker — who ran a lumbering 4.80 40-yard dash at the NFL showcase.

Suggs had nothing but praise for Te'o and said, "Manti? Most definitely."

"He's got a future, man," he added. "He'll be alright."

Suggs wasn't so keen on the NFL Combine itself and claims he didn't exactly impress the coaches when he was showing off his skills.

"It's built for small school guys who don't get a look," said the man who hoisted the Lombardi Trophy earlier this month.

It looks like Te'o's — the guy with the fake girlfriend— draft stock might have dropped during his highly scrutinized trip to Indianapolis, but it sounds like Suggs' vote of confidence is the real deal.

Dr. Phil: Hoax mastermind fell 'romantically in love' with Te'o

As if the Manti Te'o story couldn't get even any weirder, now Dr. Phil McGraw — who questioned Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the mastermind behind the Te'o fake girlfriend prank, in his first public interview which will air Thursday and Friday on the "Dr. Phil" show — tells NBC that he believes Tuiasosopo genuinely fell in love with the Notre Dame football star during the course of the two-year deception. "Here we have a young man that fell deeply, romantically in love," McGraw told NBC's Mike Tiabbi. "I asked him straight up, 'Was this a romantic relationship with you?' And he says yes. I said, 'Are you then therefore gay?' And he said, 'When you put it that way, yes.' And then he caught himself and said, 'I am confused.'"

In the two-part interview with Dr. Phil, Tuiasosopo said Te'o was nothing more than an innocent victim in the Catfish hoax. "I wanted to end it because after everything I had gone through , I finally realized that I just had to move on with my life," Tuiasosopo told McGraw in the interview. McGraw told Taibbi that, after speaking with Tuaisosopo, he believes that Te'o "absolutely, unequivocally" was not involved in the hoax in any way.

A.J. McCarron tweets support for Manti Te'o

Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron — maybe now better known as Katherine Webb's boyfriend — is asking critics to give the beleaguered Notre Dame player some space and hold back passing judgement until all of the facts of the bizarre story are in. Via twitter, McCarron — who led his Crimson Tide team to a 42-14 rout over Te'o's team in the BCS Championship Game — showed compassion towards the troubled linebacker.

McCarron's simple tweet just goes to show that football connections go beyond teammates and he has lot of respect for his on-the-field rival.

St. John's scores basket for Notre Dame; But still upsets No. 20 Fighting Irish

St. John's is starting to play its best basketball of the season and— despite scoring a basket for the visiting team— held off a frenetic come-back by Notre Dame to post its first victory over a ranked team this season.

Even if the Red Storm wasn't perfect for 40 minutes, they definitely played their best first half in 2012.

The Red Storm won their third straight game by shocking the 20th-ranked Fighting Irish, 61-58, in Madison Square Garden on Saturday afternoon.

St. John's (13-16, 6-10) had lost 10 consecutive games against ranked opponents this season when— with three minutes to go and a 56-52 lead— a missed shot by Notre Dame's Pat Connaughton was inadvertently tipped in by St. John's Sir'Dominic Pointer to close the gap to two points.

It looked like another Red Storm collapse was inevitable.

Notre Dame's Jack Cooley was credited with the score, but replays showed he never even touched the ball— it was all Pointer.

It was a bucket that the Red Storm couldn't afford to give the visiting team.  St. John's went more than five minutes without scoring a field goal and were up only 57-56 with 44 seconds left after Notre Dame scored on an inbounds pass.

Notre Dame (20-9, 12-4) stormed back from a double-digit deficit and had momentum on its side.  Only Amir Garret's drive through traffic in the lane with no time on the shot clock and only 8.9 seconds left  saved the game for the Johnnies.  Garret's runner clinched the victory and snapped the Fighting Irish's nine-game win streak.

Notre dame's Alex Dragevich missed a long three-point shot at the end of the game.

Moe Harkless— the freshman phenom— finished with 22 points  and nine rebounds.  D'Angelo Harrison had 15 points and Garret had 11.  Cooley and Scott Martin finished with 18 apiece for the Irish.

Both coaching staffs sported blue bow ties to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.  St. John's head coach Steve Lavin is still recovering from surgery for the disease.

Tommy Zbikowski Gears Up For For Saturday's Heavyweight Bout

Baltimore Ravens safety Tommy Zbikowski is making the the most of the NFL lockout and piling up pro boxing fights faster than Chad Ochocinco changes names.  The NFL star Zbikowski worked out today in a Manhattan gym preparing for a heavyweight pro-fight on Saturday in Atlantic City--only two weeks after his last fight.

The former Notre Dame football star waited almost five years between his pro debut and his second paid bout, a first-round TKO against Richard Bryant on March 12.

Zbikowski's weigh-ins have lasted longer than his first two fights.  In his pro debut, June 10, 2006, 'Tommy Z', at the age of 21, TKO'd Robert Bell at 0 :49 into the fight at Madison Square Garden.  Bryant managed to last until 1:45 from the opening bell when Zbikowski  left the bigger fighter breathless after a nasty body shot.

The former- All-American  Zbikowski (2-0, 2 KO's), will fight Caleb Grummet (0-0-1) in a four-round heavyweight undercard of the featured WBA and IBF featherweight Championship bout between Yuriorkis Gamboa (19-0, 15 KO's) and Jorge Solis (40-2-2, 29 KO's) at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.  It will be shown live Saturday night on HBO.

The 25 year-old Zbikowski worked out at Manhattan's Kingsway Gym on Wednesday after leaving a Facebook post seeking help with his fight gear color scheme for this Saturday's bout: 'Need help...Should I wear purple and black or purple and white trunks at the fight Saturday?'  Most of the responses sided with the purple and black, but there were a few Blue and Gold as well.

While many NFL players have been talking about crossing over to other sports including the NBA or, like Ochocinco, boxing, to help pay the mortgage should the NFL season goes kaput,  Zbikowski is punching ahead--literally and quickly.  It only took minutes after his March 12 win against Bryant that he announced fighting this bout only fourteen days later.

Today, Zbikowski said that he will keep busy during the NFL lockout and pro-boxing is more passion than moonlighting and, as long as the labor strife continues, he will box.

"Right now, this isn't a second career for me," said Zbikowski.  "It is a first career."

His father, Ed Zbikowski backed up his son's immersion into the sweet science the other day.  "It's not about money," he said.  "It's about earning respect on the boxing community.  It's also a great way to train for football if there is a lockout."

Well, there is a lockout.  Now Tommy Z gets to follow his dream while the NFL and team owners create a sports nightmare.

St. John's Basketball Team Is Already On The Bubble

Nobody was rooting harder for 15th-ranked Notre Dame to upset #2 Pittsburgh on Monday night the the St. John's University's men's basketball team.  The players gathered in the home locker room Monday night, watching the Fighting Irish beat the Panthers and increase the Red Storm's own chances of getting an NCAA Tournament berth this year.

Although the 10 senior Red Storm players were encouraged by the upset, they still know it's a long and hard road to getting the school's first NCAA bid since 2002 and Saturday's disappointing loss to Cincinnati was a shocking reminder how tough life is in the Big East.

It's tough being a St. John's fan these days and very tiring.  The team flirts with a national ranking one week, only to be ranking the next.  A 15-point St. John's lead can slip away faster than a comb through head coach Steve Lavin's hair.  It's all or nothing with this squad.

St. John's (11-7, 4-4) is smack dab in the middle of the Big East schedule and still hanging around.  The senior-laden team is hungry to make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the goal is realistically in sight.  They have waited four years for this opportunity.

The Big East conference is arguably the toughest in the nation and the Johnnies have a chance to make a huge statement against #21 Georgetown (14-5, 3-4) tonight.  St. John's is currently in ninth place in the 16-team conference.

The Red Storm have the 24th-ranked RPI in the nation and have quality wins against Georgetown, Notre Dame and West Viginia in their noisy arena.  If St. John's can finish in the top half of the Big East, chances are they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.  Most mock tournament brackets currently have the Red Storm bubbling in.

It's all a big IF.  The Storm came out of the Big East gate on fire.  The team won their first three conference games then dropped four of five--including the disaster against the Bearcats.  There are still 12 games to go and their tight-rope chances sway with every resulting game.

Upcoming, the Red Storm face ranked conference teams Connecticut, Cincinnati, Pitt and solid teams like Marquette as well as stubborn ones like Jersey rivals Rutgers and Seton Hall.  Throw in non-conference foes like Duke and UCLA and the stretch-run looks harder than Gene Keady's stare.

The RPI boost from Notre Dame's upset win over Pitt is nice, but shooting 12-of-26 from the line against Cincy is beyond bad, it's horrific.  The poor free-throw shooting cost them a crucial win against a ranked opponent.  You get to the tournament by winning, not watching other teams get the 'W'.

It is only January and the Red Storm have to worry about 'must win' games.  If the team plans a second half surge, they have to get down to basics--making free throws and less turnovers.  These guys are seniors, they should know.

Lavin knows how to get teams into the Big Dance.  He took six of the seven teams he coached at UCLA to the NCAA's, including five to the Sweet 16 and another to the round of 8.

Lavin has acknowledged all the talk about bracketologies,  RPI's  and all the other factors swirling around his team; variables which get a team into the NCAA Tournament.  The head coach, after spending six years at a broadcast table until this season, is taking it one game at a time.

"We have eleven single-game seasons," said Lavin.  "Everyone wants to participate in the NCAA Tournament, but understanding how to get there is the important part."

Everyone is talking about next year's Red Storm recruiting class and how great a job Lavin did.  The coach can only play the hand he was dealt but the glory days start now.
