Ronda Rousey offers up advice for her future romantic suitors

Ronda Rousey is more than a mystery to most men and it wouldn't be a stretch to say she is downright scary too. But the sexy MMA star let down her guard and did a Q&A session in the new edition of Maxim, fielding questions ranging from what to wear on a first date to the one beverage men should bring on a first date.

One guy was bold enough to ask the fighter what men should never do to her when it comes to the bedroom. As if. Anyway, Rousey made it clear to steer away from the bantamweight champion's teeth:

"For what you should never do: Don't bite my teeth! If my teeth are repeatedly hitting your teeth, then there's a problem with what you're doing. That freaks me out. I don't like it. It's terrible. I have a thing about my teeth. Even though I do a sport where I get punched in the face for a living, if your teeth hit my teeth more than a few times, I'm over it already."

Mugger finds out it’s never a good idea to try and rob a female MMA fighter (VIDEO)

Brazilian mixed martial artist Monique Bastos was spending some time with some friends Tuesday night when two muggers approached the group on a motorbike and demanded their belongings.

One of the crooks grabbed Bastos' cell phone and well, let's just say things didn't end well for the one guy she managed to grab and take down.

Unfortunately, the fighter with six MMA bouts said she has encountered similar situations before.

"I've been through this a few times before, and it's the second time I fought back," she told MMAFighting.com's Guilherme Cruz."There were two guys, and they were using knives, but I was able to use my jiu-jitsu and get my phone back. It's a huge risk, but I did it to defend myself and my friends, so I used what I learned."

And on Tuesday she taught someone a lesson.

Vitor Nobrega fought Philip Mulpeter for the International Pro Combat welterweight title Monday night — and this image of  the defending champion unleashing a devastating kick to Mulpeter's side was captured perfectly by a photographer.

The image shows the brute force behind Nobrega's roundhouse at the moment of impact.

Brazilian Nobrega went on to retain the title against Ireland's Mulpeter at the Estoril Casino in Portugal in the main event of International Pro Combat 6. But, from the looks of Nobrega's face, you'd be hard-pressed to tell who won the fight. 

That is, until you see the chest x-rays.

Connecticut approves bill to legalize MMA, could leave NY as only state still banning sport

The Connecticut State Legislature gave final approval Wednesday — by a vote of 26-9 — to a bill to legalize mixed martial arts.  If Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy signs the bill into law, New York would be left as the only state that still outlaws the sport of MMA.

The bill will soon go to Malloy whose spokeswoman would say only that “the governor will review this bill carefully when it gets to his desk.”

Connecticut currently has MMA fights but only at its two Indian casinos, which are exempt from state laws. The XL Center in Hartford and Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport likely would host fights if the bill becomes law.

In New York, the state Senate has repeatedly passed a bill to legalize the controversial sport only to see it die in the Assembly. Opponents have called the sport too violent.

“I know New York likes to think of itself as a leader but when it comes to the fastest growing sport in the nation, New York is now the only outlier,” said Lorenzo Feritta, head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship league.

Also Wednesday, the Canadian House of Commons passed a bill legalizing certain fighting sports, including MMA.

UFC President Dana White tweeted his joy at the news.
