Emmitt Smith exits as Miss USA judge citing Trump comments: Report

NBC and Univision's decisions to severe ties with the Miss USA beauty pageant and the Miss Universe Organization, following Donald Trump's controversial comments describing Mexicans as "rapists" and drug-smuggling criminals, has one former NFL star joining their boycott.

Emmitt Smith, who was one of the celebrities set to judge the upcoming Miss USA competition, is backing the broadcast networks by ditching the sweet TV gig.

"In light of Mr. Trump's statements and the subsequent decisions made by NBC, I have decided not to participate as a judge in the 2015 Miss USA pageant," Smith tweeted Wednesday.

The 46-year-old NFL Hall-of-Famer added that his decision is not at all reflective of the pageant contestants.

"Knowing firsthand through my wife, Pat Smith, how much the women prepare for this event, I continue to send my support and best wishes to everyone competing this year."

Reelz, a relatively obscure cable channel, is filling the void left by NBC and will broadcast the event.

The three-hour event set to take place in Baton Rouge, La. on July 12 will also be available for viewing via MissUniverse.com/MissUSA.

Shaq steals lovelorn Miss USA from reporter and takes her to 'Grown-ups 2' premiere

After news broke Wednesday that former Miss USA Nana Meriwether was looking for love using online dating apps,  comedian Adam Sandler came to the rescue, hooking Meriwether up with a special date for the premiere of his new movie "Grown Ups 2."

Meriwether posted a tweet earlier in the day announcing that a love connection had been made.

And then proceeded to tweet out the photo above of her and one of the film's co-stars himself, Shaquille O’Neal, posing for photos together on the red carpet of the New York event.

But wait. The beauty queen already had her Prince Charming before Kazaam came along and granted her wish.

Meriwether, who said she had trouble finding a date in New York, finally did find a match earlier Wednesday in the form of New York Post reporter Frank Rosario, before the celebrity millionaire Shaq swooped in for the kill.

"Oh, I'd love to go out with you," the six-foot Meriwether told the two-inch shorter Rosario. "I'm very busy —maybe Friday," before leaving him and his wilting bouquet of flowers for seven-foot Superman and the red carpet, according to The Post.

Rosario claims he won't let his short and not so sweet blow-off get him down. He plans to prove to Meriwether that love can be found in NYC.

And you can bet he's cleared his calendar for Friday.

As for Shaq — no such worries.

Ryan Lochte dives into dating pool with Miss USA Olivia Culpo

Ryan Lochte won't get a chance to test the waters on "The Bachelor" but just might have gotten relationship gold anyway in the form of Miss USA Olivia Culpo.

The Olympic swimmer — who has been making the rounds in Manhattan during Fashion Week — may have just landed his biggest prize yet in the form of the stunning beauty pageant winner.

It might be more than just a coincidence they both like to strut around in their bathing suits and look good doing it.  Talk about a match made in reality show heaven.

"Things are still very new, because they just met, and they obviously aren't exclusive," said an insider but they "definitely like each other."

Lochte and Culpo met Wednesday night at the Four Seasons restaurant, where shoe designer Brain Atwood was hosting a party.

"Everyone was trying to get a piece of Ryan at the party, but he spent a chunk of his time talking to Olivia," said another source who said Lochte invited Culpo to his "Guys Fashion's Night Out" event last Thursday, but Culpo was already booked, so they reunited at the Sherri Hill show Friday.

At that gathering, Lochte posed for pictures with Culpo and the Miss Universe organizer Donald Trump. It sounds like The Donald approves of the pairing.

"He's got a lot of medals like you," he told Culpo —the former Miss Rhode Island.

According to what Lochte told The New York Daily News, the 20-year old Culpo is exactly his type.

"For the past four years, my face has been down staring at a pool," said the 28-year old Lochte.  "She's definitely got to be pretty ... she has to hold her own.  I don't want her to always have to be coming to me for everything.  I want her to be really independent."

Jeah.  And she has to be smoking hot too.

A spokeswoman for Lochte threw some cold water on the relationship.

"It's too early to say they're dating," she said.  "They get along well and they've been to a couple of events, but to my knowledge, they're not dating."

Culpo isn't denying anything though.

"We just met last week, so I can't say anything for that, but he's a good guy," she said Monday night at the Eric Trump Foundation Golf Invitational.

Did I mention they are both comfortable walking around in bathing suits?
