Miami's amazing walk-off kickoff return TD against Duke should not have counted (VIDEO)

There has been The Auburn Finish, this season's Michigan Fumble and, of course, The Stanford Band Return, but what happened at the end of the Miami-Duke game late Saturday might top them all.

Or maybe not?

The Hurricanes, six days after seeing their coach fired, ended the game with one of the most remarkable kick returns in college football history with a touchdown by Corn Elder, whose two pass interference penalties had set up No. 18 Duke's go-ahead touchdown just seconds earlier.

Elder's touchdown, after time ran out and the assist of eight lateral tosses. gave Miami a 30-27 win on the game's final play.

But before Miami was declared a winner, the game officials had to sort out a flag that was thrown on the Duke 25-yard line during the return.

It looked like the 'Canes player's knee was on the ground when he flipped the ball backwards to a Miami teammate.

FOX Sports Rules Analyst Mike Pereira seemed to agree:

First, it does appear then there was a knee down based on some pictures that I have seen. It was close but it looked down.

And, after studying the tape in replay a few times, Pereira thinks that No. 22 on Miami also delivered a clear block in the back at the Miami 15 to help set the play in action.

Another discrepancy.

So the crew used replay to pick up the flag. The block,btw, was legal.But, the block at the 15 back upfield was a flagrant block in the back

But, even after a nine-minute review by the ACC officials, the Hurricanes were declared victorious.

The good news for Blue Devils fans? No band members were trampled during the filming of this play.

ESPN announcers crack up at Virginia fan singing to plastic goose (VIDEO)

A lot of strange things happen before, during and after ESPN college football games (i.e. Lee Corso comes to mind) but this Virginia football fan even had the network's experienced announcers at a loss for words Saturday.

Cameras caught a young man singing along to Journey's Don't Stop Believin' holding a very large plastic goose during the Cavaliers' 30-13 win over Miami and, before you could say Aflac, the usually verbose ESPN broadcasters were rolling in the booth — speechless.

But when the fan starts singing into the bird's beak, it sends them into hysterics:

I guess, "Nothing says college like singing Journey while holding onto a goose," does describe this scene pretty well.

Or maybe Steve Perry he ain't.

Arkansas St. player fakes death on field, then gets buried (VIDEO)

An Arkansas State special teams player must have thought playing dead during a fake punt against Miami would somehow fool the other team but his phony demise did nothing but give them one less man on the field.

For whatever reason this guy clutched his chest and fell over, his dramatic death was completely ignored by the other players — including his own teammates.



The best part? After a zombie-like rising, he gets put six feet under by a Miami player:

Miami Hurricanes mascot walks bride down the aisle (VIDEO)

A bride whose father passed away two years before her wedding day found a very special replacement to walk her down the aisle.

Jennifer Sullivan has always been a big fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes, so it was only fitting that the college mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, accompany her when the Florida native wed her fiance Patrick back in March.

In a video that has been shared more than 5,000 times since it was posted on July 17, the 30-year-old bride giggles and beams as her lively friend elicits cheers from the wedding guests

Patrick  told ABC News that since Jennifer's dad Walter died of a heart attack two years ago, she had struggled with the thought of walking down the aisle alone.

"She thought about her mom or a good friend or an uncle, but she thought nobody was going to take the place of her dad and it'd be a sad moment for everyone," he said.

So they came up with the idea to have the mascot for University of Miami Hurricanes — where Jennifer and Patrick met in law school — be the guest of honor.

The choice was extra special since her father was a devout football fan, and the pair had always a shared love of sports. As an added tribute, Sebastian wore a custom jersey that said "Big Walt" - her father's nickname — on the back.

"We'd just told people Sebastian was walking her down the aisle and they didn't know Sebastian was the name of the mascot."
