Luke Petitgout on Giants sideline angers estranged wife: Report

Former Giants lineman Luke Petitgout is facing charges of assaulting his wife in New York and New Jersey, but that didn't stop the former NFL star from hanging out on the sidelines of MetLife Stadium with his old team Sunday.

And Jennifer Petitgout was shocked to hear that her estranged husband was allowed on the field while facing the domestic abuse charges, according to Page Six of the N.Y. Post.

The perceived lack of good judgement by the Giants comes even while the NFL’s “social responsibility” team has launched a campaign of PSAs — featuring the team's quarterback, Eli Manning, — raising awareness of domestic violence.

"Luke was at the game with his kids, waving to the crowd," a source told the site. "This was the second time recently he was on the field, despite the NFL saying they’re clamping down on abuse. It’s pathetic. You need credentials to get on the field."

It would be a surprise if the invite did come from the top because the Giants organization is normally considered one of the more conservative and image-conscious teams in the NFL.

And a Giants rep told Page Six that Luke attended Sunday’s game “as a guest of one of our suite holders. He was not there at the invitation of the team.” And “he was not on the field during the game. He was on the sidelines during pregame, when there are hundreds of guests . . . To my knowledge, he was on the visiting side.”

Petitgout’s facing an attempted assault rap in Manhattan Criminal Court for allegedly attacking his wife at a Midtown lounge on June 5. He was separately arrested in November on sexual assault charges against her in New Jersey for allegedly attacking her at their home after she’d thrown him from the house. The night of that incident, Petitgout was also on the sidelines at a Giants game, sources said, as part of a celebration for ex-players including Michael Strahan.

Jennifer’s lawyer, Nicole Noonan, told Page Six: “The NFL is still condoning this type of aggressive behavior off the field, and only focusing on success on it.”

Former Giants lineman Luke Petitgout busted for hitting wife, man in nightclub: Report

Retired New York Giants Luke Petitgout was sacked again by police, this time for punching a Queens man who was chatting up the athlete’s wife, then slapping her across the face in a jealous rage, sources told the N.Y. Post.

The former offensive lineman was charged with misdemeanor assault for the alleged incident at a Midtown Manhattan nightclub and was awaiting arraignment Friday afternoon, reported the New York Daily News.

The beefy Petitgout — he’s 6- feet-6 inches tall and weighs 310 pounds — got into an argument with the 43-year-old man at Lounge 48 in Rockefeller Center early Friday, just past midnight.

Jennifer Petitgout was at the trendy club at Sixth Avenue and 48th Street with two girlfriends for a business meeting about an athletic-clothing line, said a source close to her.

Once the enraged Luke Petitgout, who was in the city for an unrelated appointment, spotted her in the lounge, he charged their table and slugged John Constantinides in the right eye, then smacked Jennifer in the face, sources said.

“He slapped Jennifer open-handed, then continued fighting with the guys. He told them he wanted to take it outside,” the source said.

Petitgout, who last played for the Giants in 2006, was about to turn his attention to a second man when as many as six bouncers jumped in to restrain him while the owners called cops.

“Jen, you’re coming with me!” he growled as he was hauled off in cuffs, according to sources.

Petitgout played college football at Notre Dame, then played for the Giants from 1997 through the 2006 season.

Last August, he was busted, also for misdemeanor assault, after allegedly smacking his wife and throwing her out of their car in the trendy Meatpacking District of Manhattan.

She refused to cooperate with the investigation and the charges were later dropped.

Ex-NFLer Luke Petitgout turns self in after allegedly beating his wife with pocketbook

Former New York Giants lineman Luke Petitgout allegedly beat his wife with her own pocketbook and shoved her out of their car during a one-sided, wedding anniversary-night brawl last week, law enforcement sources said today.

Petitgout last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007 and was listed then at 6-foot-6, 308 pounds.

The 37-year-old Petitgout and wife Jennifer Petitgout, 36, were out celebrating in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan when she accused him of cheating — touching off the alleged assault, according to The New York Post.

The retired offensive tackle smacked his wife with her pocketbook and then tossed her out of their car on Little West 12th Street at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, sources added.

She went to the 1st Precinct station house in the West Village to report the incident, before being taken to New York Downtown Hospital for minor injuries, sources said.

The former Giants lineman, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself in to police Tuesday morning and placed under a “limited’’ order of protection — meaning he could return home to his wife but isn’t allowed to harass her.

Reached by phone yesterday, Jennifer denied that Luke had roughed her up. “It’s all false. It’s laughable,” she said.

But a family member told The Post that Luke has hurt Jennifer several times in recent years, causing bruises and black eyes. The relative said Jennifer makes excuses to explain away her injuries.
She once claimed she got a black eye when her baby daughter hit her with an elbow — though no one believed her, the relative said.

“We think he’s on steroids and he has gone cuckoo,” said the relative, who was afraid to be identified.
Petitgout said nothing at his arraignment, but his lawyer, Dennis Ring, insisted, “Mr. Petitgout has never hurt a soul in his life off the football field. His wife is fine.’’

Petitgout was picked by the Giants out of Notre Dame in the 1999 draft and last played for Big Blue in 2006.
