Jimbo Fisher bans Florida State players from bars: Report

It looks like Florida State football players will have find some new places to hit on women this season.

After news broke Friday that Florida State running back Dalvin Cook would be charged with battery after allegedly punching a woman outside a Tallahassee bar, Jimbo Fisher released a statement saying he would hold players accountable for their actions, and promising that "we will do better."

And it sounds like the first part of the FSU head coach's plan to do better is to ban players from Florida drinking establishments.

Cook's alleged assault comes just weeks after quarterback De'Andre Johnson was kicked off the team after being charged with hitting a woman inside another Tallahassee bar. 

Now the the Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that Fisher met with his players on Saturday, and declared bars off-limits.

While the coach is hopeful this off-the-field game plan will deter FSU players from getting into future trouble, it's only a start.

A better deterrent might be if Fisher starts handing out more severe punishments. Should Cook be found guilty of the crime, booting the Seminoles starting running back off the team like he did Johnson will send a far louder message than anything else.

And Jimbo might want to ban players from the supermarket seafood sections too.

De'Andre Johnson claims woman he punched called him the N-word: Report

Florida State QB De'Andre Johnson is claiming that the woman he punched in the face in a Tallahassee bar fight last week called him the N-word before things got violent, according to the freshman football player's representative.

Johnson is claiming that the woman provoked the altercation when the four-star freshman initially bumped into her at the bar and she said, "Get off me you f**king n**ger," reported TMZ.

Johnson's rep says there are witnesses at the bar who also claim they heard the racial slur and they're willing to testify in court. 

The security cameras show Johnson following a woman in a bar. As the two appear to be exchanging words, the woman, reportedly a 21-year-old FSU student, holds up her right fist and then Johnson grabs her right arm. She throws a light punch with her left hand before Johnson nails the woman with a right-handed punch to the face.

Johnson says he's "extremely embarrassed" about the situation and has apologized for punching the woman but, maintains that she was the initial aggressor.

TMZ reached out to the woman and her family members several times for comment — but didn't get a response — except one family member told us he would not comment and hung up.

A lot of questions surrounding the incident still remain. Starting with what was the 19-year-old doing in a bar? And, of course, did the woman's feeble attack and alleged N-bomb warrant physical retaliation?

Johnson was suspended indefinitely by Florida State on June 25 for a violation of athletic department policy.

De'Andre Johnson was charged with battery after being accused of punching a woman at a Tallahassee bar — and shocking new footage shows the FSU freshman quarterback slugging the alleged victim in the face, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

Surveillance video from a bar called Yiannis was released Monday by the Tallahassee State Attorney’s Office and it shows Johnson hitting the woman square in the eye.

The video tape shows the 19-year-old Johnson following a woman in a bar. As the two appear to be exchanging words, the woman, reportedly a 21-year-old FSU student, holds up her right fist and then Johnson grabs her right arm. She throws a light punch with her left hand before Johnson nails the woman with a right-handed punch to the face.

The four-star prospect was charged with misdemeanor battery last week after being accused of punching a woman the night of June 24. Johnson turned himself in Tuesday and was later released on a $500 bond.

Johnson was suspended indefinitely by Florida State on June 25 for a violation of athletic department policy.
