Missouri unveils all-white uniforms for game against BYU (VIDEO)

In what could truly be called a case of bad timing — or just plain irony, Missouri unveiled a new all-white uniform for this Saturday's game at Arrowhead Stadium against BYU that is sure to create some controversy.

After a week of protests and racial tension on the campus, the school did the big reveal of the new unis for the first time Thursday. They claim the all-white look had been planned long ago, saying the Tigers played three games at Arrowhead from 2007-09 and wore a special uniform in each of those games, so they are continuing that tradition with a return trip to Kansas City this week.

“Prior to the season, Missouri Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Don Barnes came up with a uniform concept that this team had never worn: a white base jersey-pant combo with black numbers and an anthracite Tiger stripe overlay accompanied by a white helmet equipped with a chrome secondary Tiger logo and facemask,” a news release from the athletic department announced. “The uniform combination will also feature gloves with the anthracite Tiger stripe pattern.”

Just hoping the student body doesn't get someone to step down for the plainness.

Amazing tip-in at buzzer wins high school championship

An amazing overtime tip-in at the buzzer gave Chaparral High School a 69-67 victory over Arapahoe High School in the Colorado Boys Class 5-A High School Championship game over the weekend.

Senior Josh Adams' tip-in as time expired gave the Denver school its first state championship.

With the game tied at 67-67 in OT, Adams somehow managed to get his left hand (he's right-handed) on the errant ball and twist it into the basket after teammate Cory Calvert missed a long 3-point shot for the win.

Adams got the ball through the hoop just as the buzzer sounded and the crowd of over 10,000 at Coors Events Center erupted into cheers.

The 6-foot-1 Adams is headed to BYU, so maybe we'll see some more of his acrobatic baskets in the future.

Utah Man Wins $300G Lamborghini; Crashes It Hours Later

A Utah truck-driver who won a $300,000 Lamborghini in a convenience store contest crashed it six hours after he getting behind the wheel.  Now he plans on selling the 640-horsepower sports car because he can't afford the insurance or taxes.

Dave Dopp, a 34 year-old long-haul truck driver, wrecked the  bright green Murcielago Roadster he won in a  "Joe Shmo to Lambo" contest after he spun out of control just hours after getting the keys to the rare vehicle.

The trucker got the happy news about his win at a BYU football game last month.

Easy come, easy go.

Dopp must be more comfortable behind the wheel of a semi because he claims he was only going fifty mph when he lost control of the  automobile with its carbon fiber body while giving friends a joy ride last Saturday.

"We were going up a hill and either hit some black ice or gravel," said Dopp.  "And we started spinning."

No one was injured except the car and Dopp's insurance premium.

Now he plans to get what he can for the car when it gets back from the shop and buy a more family-friendly vehicle.

"I already had offers on it.  I'm going to sell it," said Dopp.  I have bills more important than a Lamborghini.  I've got  a family to support."

Dopp was videotaped jumping up around and hollering in disbelief when officials from the sponsor— Maverick convenience stores— told Dopp he won the car at the Nov. 12 BYU-Idaho game in LaVell Edwards Stadium.

He also won $5,000 in driving lessons at a local motor sports park. 

The battered 2008 convertible is being held by his insurance company at a Utah towing garage.  It will sent to a Las Vegas dealer for repairs next week.

"That's why rich people own them," reasoned Dopp.  "The poor people like me don't."

Well, it's back to being Joe Shmo after a mere six hours.

BYU Fans Have Beef With Arby's

BYU football fans are beefing about a local Arby's promotion they consider a low blow to their school.

After turning the ball over seven times last weekend and losing to rivals Utah, 54-10, a south Provo Arby's restaurant was telling customers who bring in a BYU ticket stub, they will get a free "turnover."

Get it... turnover.

Cougar fans took offense to the gist and timing of the promo and, after Utah students posted the promotion on their Twitter accounts, the fast food joint was overrun by an angry, but pastry-loving, fan base.

The message on the billboard outside the Arby's read: "Bring in BYU stub for a free turnover."

The branch manager claims the promotion was not a dig at the BYU team and had the promotion before the game.  It was only an accident that the message was still up when it was over.

A couple of questions arise.  First, who shows only a ticket stub before a game?  Wouldn't you have the whole ticket?  And why turnovers?  Hmmm....

That's about as bad as things get in Provo.
