Unassuming teenager shocks crowd by winning high-school dance-off (VIDEO)

That old saying 'You can't judge a book by it's cover' has never been more true than in the dance-off you are about to see in a video below.

A skinny, teenage boy in Napoleon Dynamite glasses goes from unassuming and somewhat gawky wallflower to dance floor god thanks to a few insane moves.

As a New York high school crowd gathers around the dance floor with cell phone cameras at the ready, one cocky dancer wows the crowd with his fancy footwork in the seemingly 'all over before it's even begun' dance-off.

Then, after a few friendly prods to his nerdy looking opponent named Kevin, the crowd waits in giddy anticipation of what most expected to be the worst dance routine at Yorktown High School history.

But imagine to everybody's shock when the McLovin’ lookalike pops a few insane moves and kills it.

As the crowd screams in delight, the young man who went first acknowledges 'the winner' and grabs Kevin for a celebratory hug.

Stereotypes be damned. Pretty awesome.

Young fan and Palace usher in EPIC dance-off during Pistons-Knicks game (VIDEO)

The New York Knicks played the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills last week and, as it has been most of the season with the Knicks, the real story is about the dance.

New York may have benched the Knicks City Dancers, but James Dolan might want to rescind his "Footloose" edict and take a cue from these dancing Detroiters.

This young fan with mad moves got into an impromptu dance-off with a Palace usher and it was captured on the arena "Dance-Cam" in all its glory. Even if you aren't big on these fan participation camera shots, you'll love this showdown between the gleeful kid and The Rock lookalike.

The Pistons waltzed to an 92-86 victory.
