'MLB Tonight' techies have a little fun with Ryan Dempster's suit (VIDEO)

Ryan Dempster wore a bright red suit while on MLB Tonight and, thanks to some TV wizardry from the studio technicians, it turned into different colors while on the air.

Dempster's 50 shades of fashion had his studio co-hosts cracking up and wondering if the always stylish former MLB pitcher was plugged into something under his desk Thursday night.

Just guessing that red is the new orange or yellow or blue or maybe even lime polka dot.

A-Rod hit by Dempster pitch in first at-bat against Red Sox (VIDEO)

Alex Rodriguez was hit by a Ryan Dempster pitch in his first at-bat against Boston Sunday night, prompting both the Yankees and Red Sox players to clear the benches and bullpens in a tense scene at at Fenway Park.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi ran onto the field during the nationally-televised game, threw his cap to the ground and was ejected. He was tossed during a heated argument after plate umpire Brian O'Nora warned both teams against further trouble. Girardi loudly insisted to O'Nora that Dempster intentionally took aim at A-Rod two times before finally nailing him on a third attempt.

Dempster's fastball hit Rodriguez in the second inning with a 3-0 pitch. Dempster threw his first pitch of the inning behind the legs of Rodriguez, missed inside with the next two pitches and then threw a fastball that glanced off A-Rod's elbow pad and deflected into his back setting off an explosion of cheers by the Sox faithful.

Rodriguez was recently suspended 211 games by Major League Baseball in a drug case. He is appealing and allowed to play until there is a decision.

Ryan Dempster does Fat Bastard and makes Tim Kurkjian giggle

Ryan Dempster's talents extend beyond the the baseball field as he showed host Tim Kurkjian on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight."

Dempster— riding an incredible 33-inning consecutive scoreless streak— did a pretty good impression of Fat Bastard from the Austin Powers movies during an interview and the Chicago Cubs starter had Kurkjian giggling like a school girl while also doing impressions of Dr. Evil and Harry Carey.

I say put a plaid tam on Dempster's head he'd look like Willy the Groundskeeper.

Dempster threw six more shutout innings Saturday during a 4-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.  It was his fifth consecutive win and the last time he gave up a run was May 30.  He leads the majors with a 1.86 ERA.

Dempster's name keeps coming up in trade talks and— if Dr. Evil is his agent— would probably ask for one million dollars.

Ryan Dempster's Harry Caray Tribute To Derek Jeter Is Funny But Premature

In anticipation of Derek Jeter getting his historic 3,000th base-hit in Wrigley Field, Chicago starting pitcher Ryan Dempster did a hilarious imitation of the late Cubs announcer Harry Caray throwing accolades at the Yankees shortstop for getting long-awaited hit.  Dempster even looked the part with Caray's trademark giant square glasses. 

While Dempster's mimicking of Caray was dead on, his timing was off.  Jeter's quest for # 3,000 is on hold while he rehabs his strained calf muscle in Florida.

The Yankees captain is on the 15-day disabled list and is stuck six hits short of the milestone with 2994.  He is expected to resume playing on June 29 in  a home game against the Milwaukee Brewers in Yankee Stadium.

Dempster filmed the segment earlier for Fox Sports and it was broadcast during the ninth inning of the Cubs 4-3 loss to the Yankees at Wrigley Field.

The  Chicago Cubs impersonator was also the starter for yesterday's game and went 5 1/3 innings before getting the loss.

The beloved Caray has a host of impersonators, including Will Ferrell and thousands of Cubbie fans, caricaturing the assorted Carayisms, but Dempster's impression is right up there with the best of them.
