Adam Dunn's locker gets Oscar-themed makeover (PHOTO)

White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn returned to the team Tuesday after attending the 86th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, where “Dallas Buyers Club,” a film which he helped finance and had a cameo in, took home three awards.

Upon his return, Dunn found out an unidentified member of the team decided to give his locker the red carpet treatment.

The movie won three Oscars — Matthew McConaughey for best actor, Jared Leto for best supporting actor and also best achievement in makeup and hairstyling.

Adam Dunn invited to Academy Awards for role behind 'Dallas Buyers Club': Report

No one will ever confuse Adam Dunn with George Clooney as a box office attraction, but when comes to producing hits outside the batter's box, the White Sox slugger is suddenly in the same class as the film star.

The White Sox designated hitter has an invite to Sunday’s Academy Awards, a reward for his role in the production company behind “Dallas Buyers Club,” the film that scored a Best Actor nomination for Matthew McConaughey.

“Realistically, how many times do you get to do something like this,” Dunn asked. “I got to do some pretty cool stuff in my life, but this would be one of them.”

The 6-foot-6, 285 pound Dunn told the CSNChicago.com that the one thing that’s giving him pause about attending the Oscars is that with only 27 days left in spring training after Sunday’s awards show in Los Angeles, he’s not sure if he wants to take a day off.

“I don’t even think it’s a big deal,” he said of using his one allotted day off. “If it’s remotely an issue at all then it’s not worth it to me.”

In addition to being an investor in Texas-based Truth Entertainment (started by his friend, ex-Blue Jays minor leaguer Joe Newcomb), Dunn also played a bit role in the Best Picture-nominated film — which led to a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Jared Leto and another for Best Original Screenplay, among other categories. Dunn played bartender Neddie Jay in the movie.

Dunn — whose baseball career is similar to most Hollywood players — plenty of home runs (440) but with a fair share of strikeouts (2,220), too — was still undecided Monday about whether he would attend the red carpet extravaganza, although he already had the backing of his manager.

“How many people get a chance to do that and actually be a part of it, not just go just to go, but be a part of something that has a chance to do something special,” White Sox manager Robin Ventura told CSNChicago. “Even the next day, I’d rather have him not worry about the next day and have him catch up after that … I’m not worried about precedence either because the next time somebody has something to do with the Oscars, we’ll deal with it.”

Jennifer Lopez looks like a knockout in photo spread

Jennifer Lopez strapped on the leather and gave a photographer her best shots for a photo spread in the upcoming issue of V magazine.  And she comes off looking like a knockout. 

The "American Idol" judge put on a pair of bright red Everlast boxing gloves along with a matching groin protector and a high-riding sports bra for the photo shoot.

J.Lo doesn't look like she is too worried about any wardrobe malfunctions here.

Lopez sparked some controversy at Sunday night's Oscars when she had nipple reportedly slip out of her low-cut gown.

She was teased about it by her American Idol co-hosts.

The V magazine shoot was meant to convey the singer's survival skills and the 42-year-old mother of twins looks like she could still throw down and go toe-to-toe with women half her age.

I bet there are more than a few men who wouldn't mind getting into a clinch with the Latin beauty.

Lopez was shot by fashion photographer Mario Testino for the upcoming issue.

Is Jolie'ing the new Tebowing?

A couple of days after the Oscars and people aren't talking about "The Artist," Billy Crystal's comeback or how another Billy Beane project didn't win the big one.  No way.  The talk is about Angelina Jolie's leg.

When the star stuck her leg through the slit of her gown, she got more than some hearts going, she set off the the latest stampede of photo bombing and posing in... well... weeks.

The latest craze is called Jolie'ing.

Jolie's sexy red carpet stance has the Internet lighting up with people imitating (mocking?) her pose in everything from gowns to bed sheets.

Jolie'ing is carrying on the relatively new tradition of planking, Tebowing and all that stuff with Linsanity.

Just put your left hand on your hip, right hand slung down at your side and your right leg seductively thrust forward (preferably naked) and you are Jolie'ing.

Digitally altered Jolie leg-bombings of American icons like the Statue of Liberty, George Washington crossing the Delaware and Jeremy Lin are all the rage.

There is even a new website Angelina Jolie'ing where you can submit your own Jolie'ing shots.

The fad might have started when "The Descendants" co-writer Jim Rash got to the Oscar podium for his Academy Award and struck the Jolie pose.  I don't think Jolie was laughing.

Jolie's awkward stance has launched an lot of sites devoted to her right leg.  One Twitter handle — AngiesRightLeg— has almost 15,000 followers.

I don't know if Jolie'ing will catch on in sports like Tebowing— the thought of a Ray Lewis, head atilt, with a hand on his hip is a pretty scary image— for more than one reason.

New York Giants Also Have An Oscar Nominee in the Family

This week keeps getting better for the Super Bowl-bound New York Giants and members of the team's first family— the Maras.

This morning, days after the team earned a spot in the NFL's biggest showcase, Rooney Mara— the 26-year old great-granddaughter of Giants founder Tim Mara— was nominated for acting's highest accolade— an Oscar.

The 26-year old actress is the daughter of Giants executive Chris Mara and Kathleen McNulty and her other great-grandfather is Art Rooney— hence her first name— the man who started the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 84th Academy Awards winners will be announced three weeks after Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Mara was a surprise choice for the best actress nominee for her leading role in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," the wildly popular trilogy of books being turned into Hollywood films.  It is her first nomination.

The "rookie" is a 40-1 long-shot in what looks like the Oscar's most competitive category this year.

Mara will be going up against a line-up of veteran actresses—Viola Davis for "The Help," Meryl Streep for "The Iron Lady," Michelle Williams for "My Week With Marilyn" and Glenn Close for "Albert Nobbs."

Bookies have Streep and Davis leading the pack.

The young Mara looks like a wild card compared to a few of those division winners.

After the Giants bang it out on the football field in Indianapolis, Mara will be letting it all hang out on the red carpet in Tinseltown.

Mara might want to take a cue from her family's team history.  While her chances of getting the little golden statue seem slim, so did the Giants chances of getting the big golden Lombardi Trophy against the New England Patriots in 2008.

As we have seen throughout this season's playoffs, don't ever count out the Mara family and their Giants as the underdogs.
