Sunglasses company claims shades saved Bode Miller's wife's eye

A sunglasses manufacturer is claiming that pro volleyball player Morgan Miller — the wife of Olympic skier Bode Millerwould be missing one of her eyes if not for the special sunglasses she was wearing when her husband teed off a golf ball into her face, reports TMZ.

Morgan tweeted about her husband's wayward shot after it happened on Wednesday.  She also posted a  grisly-looking photo with a short explanation — claiming she and Bode were out on the links (somewhere) and he accidentally whacked her with the 160 mph golf shot. Warning: The photo is graphic.

While recovering in the hospital, the bloodied Morgan thanked the sunglasses manufacturer — a firm called Kaenon — for making the sturdy shades which saved her eyeball.

A rep for the Kaenon said the SR-91 polarized lenses Morgan was wearing are the reason the company created the special "impact resistant" sports performance sunglasses — the only ones on the market.

Morgan is now a fan of the shades and the part-time model said, thanks to them, she "only got 50+ stitches instead of losing my eye."

She later tweeted that she was looking for some new eyewear:

"Discharged and headed home.  Hoping I can score a cool eyepatch for Carving's race on Saturday."
