Vick — who cancelled dates in Atlanta and Philadelphia on his book tour after "credible" threats were made to several Barnes & Noble stores across the country — will not let the calls control his life, reports TMZ.
"Regardless of the past threats, he has millions of fans around the world and has been receiving countless messages of support," a Vick representative told TMZ. "He will continue to keep an active schedule working with charities."
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback — who spent 19 months in prison for animal cruelty among other charges — will continue to work with the Team Freedom Outreach (recreation and visitation for youth detention centers) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization even in the wake of the threats.
TMZ reported that Vick will have security measures in place in case more threats are made. He also plans on giving local police a heads up before he makes appearances at the centers.
Vick has stared down plenty of Philly fans — and probably more than a few inmates — during his life on the field and in the can, but the anonymous threats might be a little unsettling. He just wants to get on with his life.
"Mike is committed to helping make his community better place," the rep said ... adding, "[he] is determined to continue his work with charity and helping others."
