Fog forced the International Ski Federation to cancel the men's and women's downhill on Wednesday, leaving the injured Vonn with a one point lead over the overall champion Tina Maze of Slovenia for the downhill title.
Ironically, it was bad weather that Vonn blamed on her season-ending knee injury that jeopardized her career after taking a violent spill during the Super G in Austria on Feb. 5.
Vonn was excited about retaining her title and tweeted, "Omg I won the World Cup Downhill!!!!! 6 in a row with a bum knee! Everything in life comes back around...."

Vonn was probably referring back to 2011 when she was denied a chance at a fourth overall title due to similar weather conditions that cancelled a race. Vonn ended up losing to her pal Maria Hoefl-Riesch by three points.
Hoefl-Riesch — who had a slim chance at winning the downhill title — tweeted back:
"Congrats to @lindseyvonn for the dh globe! Now you know how I felt 2 years ago ;-),"
