German soccer goalie stops shot with face (VIDEO)

Someone should remind this Bundesliga goalkeeper that the netminders ARE allowed to use their hands.

Paderborn keeper Lukas Kruse used his puss to stop Stefan Kiessling’s Kruse missile and man did the facial hurt. 

The shot appears to have knocked him out, yet Kruse got up and finished the match.

Wolfsburg's Junior Malanda produced one of the biggest open net misses you are ever likely to see on a soccer pitch.

Facing defending champions Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga opener Friday night, the 19-year-old defensive midfielder found space in front of the goalkeeper to shoot but Manuel Neuer managed to deflect the shot onto the crossbar.

After the rebound, Malanda was alone on the goal line with an empty net, yet astonishingly managed to miss the target completely.

Shooting as the ball crashed back down off the bar, the Belgian — with a second chance to score and tie the match — seemed to shin the ball before watching in horror as it sailed out of play for a goal kick.

Bayern held on to the 2-1 victory win.

Augsburg goalie suffers most painful own goal ever (VIDEO)

Scoring a goal on yourself is about the worst thing that can happen to a goalie. But scoring one for the other team off your face?  An epic and painful moment.

On Saturday in a Bundesliga matchup between Augsburg and Mainz, Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz attempted to grab a loose ball before it bounced off his schnoz and crossed the goal line for one of the worst own goals of all time.

Double ouch.

German soccer reporter hit on head by ball a second time (VIDEO)

The first time might have been just bad luck. The second time and you might start believing your head is just one big, blond target. 

And that is exactly how Sky Germany's soccer reporter Jessica Kastrop must be feeling today after she was struck on the head by a stray ball during a live broadcast for the second time in her career.

Kastrop was bopped once again as she reported before the Bundesliga game between Bayer Leverkkusen and Hoffenheim on Sunday. Leverkusen’s Philipp Wollenberg was the guilty party this time and he did apologize for the wayward ball.

It was in 2010 that Kastrop, reporting pitchside at the time, was hit before a match between Mainz and Stuttgart by defender Khalid Boulahrouz.

Kastrop may well be advised to wear a helmet the next time she broadcasts a pre-match warm-up on the pitch.

Or just lay on the hairspray.

Cameraman knocked unconscious during collision with Bundesliga soccer star (VIDEO)

A cameraman got the shot he wanted —but ended up unconscious and in hospital as a result of getting a little too close to the action.

When Hoffenheim defender Andreas Beck headed towards the touchline — in a bid to keep the ball in play during a Bundesliga home match with Mainz — his momentum carried him over the boards and into the unsuspecting cameraman, knocking him out cold.

The flattened SKY camera operator was treated by paramedics inside the stadium before being taken to hospital with a concussion.

An Hoffenheim official later said: "He is doing well under the circumstances. He is responsive and has been given a neurological check in hospital."

Beck dusted himself off to complete 87 minutes in the 4-2 loss.

Ouch.
