Spiranac, best known for a sexy collection of selfies as well as her ability to whack balls from all different positions, shot 77-79-156 missing the cut by a mile and finishing 101st in the 107-player field.
She trailed leader Shanshan Feng (67-67-134) of China by 22 shots.
Earlier in the week, Spiranac, who was only playing in the event because of a sponsor’s exemption, faced criticism for her inclusion after some players reportedly said her bombshell looks are what got her on the desert fairways.
The results of her LPGA debut turned Spiranac into a teary-eyed mess in post-round interviews as well as inviting skepticism on her future plans in golf:
“At the moment, clubs are going in the water. I think I’m going to go back home and kind of re-evaluate everything and see if golf is still in my future or not. ... I’m definitely going to not look at my phone for a while. Probably take a break from social media just to kind of, like I said, step away and kind of re-evaluate everything.”
But Spiranac did receive supports from one LPGA veteran.
Hey @PaigeSpiranac keep your chin up! No one ever said the road to success is easy; the struggles make the eventual accomplishments sweeter!
