Batsman survives cricket's nastier version of a buttfumble

Most Americans couldn't tell a cricket match googly from a grubber but one thing they do know is a blunder. Such is the case in this video of a cricket batsman in England doing his version of Mark Sanchez's infamous Buttfumble.

No one was hurt on the scary-looking play but apparently the bowler was guilty of not getting out of the way of the batsman — to hilarious results.

Here's the lowdown on the play as explained by MailOnline:
Surrey batsman Arun Harinath survived a very nasty collision with Jeetan Patel after diving head first into the Warwickshire bowler as he attempted to pinch a quick single.
The impact looked like it could have done some serious damage to the 26-year-old and both he and Patel had to call their respective physios onto the field to receive treatment.
Harinath did manage to dust himself off and continue eventually, passing the 50 mark as Surrey respond to Warwickshire's 631-9 declared.

Hopefully that clears up how the guy's face ended up in the other guy's butt.
