Security team assaults fans storming field after Houston's AAC title win (VIDEO)

The Houston Cougars captured the American Athletic Conference championship with a 24-13 win over the Temple Owls on Saturday afternoon, but a scary scene unfolded when stadium security got way too abusive with fans who rushed the field at TDECU Stadium while celebrating the win.

One YouTube user posted video footage of some of the mayhem:

Cell phone cameras captured some of the thuggish CSC security staff senselessly punching, kicking and dragging around fans who made their way onto the field:

University of Houston vice president for intercollegiate athletics Hunter Yurachek released a statement condemning the actions of the stadium's security guards. Associate athletic director for strategic communications David Bassity posted the school's position on Twitter:
Saturday marked Houston's first conference championship triumph since 2006.

Criminal charges should be forthcoming.
