Kevin Kiermaier's home run-robbing catch at Camden Yards was 'Trout-like' (VIDEO)


During the Rays' 6-3 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards on Monday, Rays centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier showed once again why he is quickly becoming one of the best defensive outfielders in Major League Baseball.

Kiermaier chased down a first-inning Manny Machado fly ball to deep right-center and made a leaping catch that was well ... "Trout-like."


The catch helped Tampa Bay move to within 3 1/2 games of Texas for the second Wild Card spot. And you know Kiermaier's pitcher, Chris Archer, appreciated the leaping grab, even if he didn't show it.



Kiermaier was later forced to leave the game with a mild ankle strain but the comparisons to Mike Trout's spectacular catch at the Camden Yards fence in 2012 stayed on everyone's mind.
