Texas high school basketball fans taunt opposing players with ‘WHITE POWER’ signs (PHOTO)

A Texas high school basketball rivalry took a turn for the worse when a group of students raised “WHITE POWER” signs during a basketball game.

Flower Mound fans flashed the offensive signs in the midst of a heated triple-overtime victory over Plano East on Friday — and offended students claim someone later urinated and defecated on their team’s bus, according to WFAA 8.

The shocking placards appeared for about 30 seconds before horrified teachers raced to pull them down, WFAA 8 reported. The scene was captured in a photo shared across the web by infuriated players and fans, sparking an investigation by school officials.

Players noticed the signs when the Plano student suddenly started shouting and gesturing, one team member said.

“Our student section started pointing at the sign,” the player told WFAA 8. “That's when it clicked into everyone's mind… 'Whoa... what are these guys doing?' And the teachers came and took the signs down.”

Flower Mound’s coach Eric Littleton denounced the bigoted display in a Twitter message.

“Unacceptable,” Littleton wrote. “As head coach at FMHS I offer our full voice apology. I will pursue this fully. No place for this.”

Neither team would publicly confirm the alleged vandalism to Plano’s bus, but a Plano source claims it happened, WFAA 8 reported.

The Lewisville Independent School District, which oversees Flower Mound, promised a full investigation.
