Hockey player flips helmet at opponent before losing head (VIDEO)

During an Elite Ice Hockey League (U.K.) game between the Edinburgh Capitals and the Nottingham Panthers, the Capitals' Joe Grimaldi flipped his lid — before losing his head.

Grimaldi delivered a high hit to Nottingham's Evan Mosey, which didn't sit well with Mosey's teammates — particularly, Maxime Langelier-Parent. Parent immediately went after Grimaldi but had to protect himself from Grimaldi's thrown helmet as he approached.

Then, Grimaldi slipped in a quick right and lunged at the off-guard Parent.

It took referees a little while to separate the tangled players but, surprisingly, no other players jumped in.

Grimaldi has been suspended 18 games for his punk move, according to the Nottingham Post.
