Greg Norman nearly loses his left hand in chainsaw accident: Report

Golfing legend Greg Norman is lucky to escape with his his left hand intact after nearly cutting it off with a chainsaw, according to a post on his Instagram feed.

"Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected," the 59-year-old Norman said in the caption to a photo of the Australian golfer in a hospital bed. "I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand."

Another photo posted on Instagram last week showed the golfer, known as The Shark,  using a chainsaw with the caption:

"Time to trim the sea grapes today. Never ask someone to do something that you can do yourself. Love to work!"

Norman won 91 professional world events and was ranked the world's best golfer during the peak of his career. He now lives in Florida.

Get well Shark.
