Female runners collide during baton exchange at World Relays (VIDEO)

This isn't exactly how baton exchanges are taught in training, but things got a little scrambled for two teams during the 4x1,500-meter relay at the IAAF World Relays on Saturday.

United States runner Katie Mackey was focused on receiving the handoff from teammate Heather Kampf, so she wasn't able to see that Australia's Zoe Buckman was right in front of her as she started to run. Mackey plowed into Buckman, causing both to hit the track.

The collision didn't turn out to be too devastating for the United States. Team USA recovered enough to finish in second place.
