Male NBA cheerleader kills 4 people during rampage looking for girlfriend

A former NBA male cheerleader went on a murderous rampage looking for his ex-girlfriend in a suburban Dallas neighborhood late Wednesday night.

Details are just coming in but, according to WPTV, Erbie Bowser, a former Dallas Mavericks ManiAAc dancer, allegedly killed four people and wounded four more as he went searching for his ex.

When Bowser saw that his ex-girlfriend was not at her home, he allegedly drove to a second home in the city of DeSoto, where he killed two people and wounded two more.

Bowser, believed to be a member of the military, used “some sort of explosive device” to gain entry, and then opened fire on people inside the DeSoto home, DeSoto police spokeswoman Melissa Franks said.

The vengeful ex-boyfriend allegedly moved quickly from the first shooting to the second one, but police reportedly arrested Bowser when he ran out of ammunition.

The first emergency call reached Dallas police at 10:30 p.m. on August 7. When police responded, they found two victims dead, while two more people were wounded, but still alive.

At 10:45 p.m., a second emergency call came in from the DeSoto home as gunshots were fired, said Franks. There, two adults were fatally shot, and two boys, ages 11 and 13, were wounded by gunfire, she said.

Toya Smith, 43, and her 17-year-old daughter Tasmia Allen were reportedly among those who died in the shooting as did another of Toya’s children, who has not been identified.

Charges are pending. Dallas and DeSoto investigators are working together on the case. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the nature of the explosive device, Franks said.
