Lindsey Vonn drug-tested at fashion awards show

For a moment, it must have looked like New York's fashion elite were taking their shows just a little too seriously after Lindsey Vonn was pulled aside to undergo a mandatory drug-test while in a couture gown at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards Monday night.

The Olympic skier — who is training for the 2014 Winter games in Sochi, Russia — was accompanying designer Cynthia Rowley to the high-end awards ceremony (considered the Oscars of New York fashion) at Lincoln Center when representatives from the International Olympic Committee pulled Vonn aside to fill a urine sample bottle— on the spot.

According to The New York Post, sources said that Rowley and the skier — wearing a stunning, custom-made white gown from the designer, were sitting in Alice Tully Hall with other fashion luminaries — including Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang and Anna Wintour — when Vonn got a call from the IOC.

Several drug testers were waiting outside Lincoln Center, and told Vonn they needed access to the event to perform a drug test immediately. Rowley met the IOC group outside and ushered them into the hall.

"Lindsay met the IOC at the bathroom. Cynthia stood guard outside, and no one was allowed to enter the bathroom. They were in there for about five minutes," a source told The Post.

We’re told that amidst the glamorous setting, the IOC team made Vonn "pee in a cup" and tested the urine sample on the spot. She passed the test, our source reported, and the IOC staff told her to "have fun."

"Here Lindsey is in this custom-made gown, feeling like Cinderella, and she has to get up and do a drug test," joked one source.

Vonn didn’t seem rattled by it, and said afterwards: "We’re having a great time and [Rowley] did a great job with the dress."

The world champion skier is recovering from a serious knee injury and claims her rehab regimen is going well. "I get to start jumping and running soon, so that’s exciting," she said.

As for whether her boyfriend Tiger Woods is giving her rehab help, Vonn remarked: "He’s obviously been through it so he can relate. It’s good to have a strong support system."

Those little plastic bottles could end being the perfect accessory this season and nothing brings out those bright summer pastels like adding just a touch of yellow.

Quick, someone warn A-Rod to stay away from those Fashion Avenue soirees for the time being.

  1. Whether or not she is "an easy lay" has nothing to do with drug testing.

  3. Let me get this right. A famous Olympic skier, recovering from a very serious injury, is forced to submit to a drug test at a social gathering by the IOC. Sorry guys, the set-up didn't work. You owe the lady an apology.

    1. It is the fact that she is an Olympic Skier. This is what all Olympic athletes have to submit to. Random tests at anytime. That is what they have to agree to in order to compete. She knew this when she signed up. This was not new to her and the reason she didn't appear bothered. Just part of the norm.

    2. This is the time that they are tempted to use drugs to help the healing so it is the best time

    4. yes, random is well.. RANDOM! but when she's out at an event like that? that's ludicrous unless someone told the IOC she wasn't clean, then I can understand the surprise visit, otherwise, let her enjoy the evening,, THEN catch her on the way out.. but during? that's just low brow..

  14. The way Tigger played this last tournament,he must be helping Vonn on her leg lift excercise, and his back was hurting, from lifting her big butt.

  15. I understand why they drug test the athletes but this has more the appearance of harassment. The IOC could do a random drug test without looking for it's 15 minutes fame by making a high profile public display of it.

  16. I don't know how much of an easy lay she is but she is not sleeping with me probably because I am short, fat, balding, nonathletic, not much education, dead-end job, not much money, my wife left me with my two kids...she is so hot and I hate her for not ever taking a first or second look at guys like us...and I hate Tiger for being so rich and famous and getting to have sex with girls like her whenever he wants...I would trade everything to be Tiger for one day and play a great round of golf and have sex with Lindsey Vonn on my yacht...life sucks...so I am with you guys 100%...She is a slut and Tiger is a loser and when do guys like us ever get a break...right guys!

    1. Hey guy, you're trying a bit too hard to stereotype every critic of these two slobs as jealous. You would "trade anything" to be Tiger one day because you ARE just as much a degenerate and a self-centered loser as he is. Live righteously and look after your kids the best you can and you are a hero. But, whine about how you would sell your kids down the river to be some cheater, liar, and egomaniac who has money because he can stroke a ball and you're trash just like Tiger. Re-examine your values.

  17. I am a bit surprised that the IOC would be looking for drugs in Lindsay's body when she is clearly just recovering from surgery and may require banned drugs in the healing process. Surely she would clear any banned drugs from her system before the next Olympics. If Lindsey was in full training mode, then I could possibly see the reason for the drug testing, but not now under these conditions.

  18. The IOC just did the same thing to the Olympic gymnast Ally Reisman(sp?) in her dressing room just prior to her appearance on "Access Hollywood."

  19. I guess the IOC is on a roll!

  20. So many haters here... Can't you just be glad you are still breathing and not 6 feet under. Be thankful for what you have. There are so many more people worse off than you. Tiger and Lyndsey have the same rights as anyone else in regards to dating. They chose each other and they have fantastic professions that they work diligently to be where they are in the stats...... let them be ...time for all the "negatives" look to change your lifestyles...maybe something good will come of it. Who in the hell are you to judge anyway???

  22. Hey its a random who cares when it happens. As far as the comments on this blog and any other blog for that matter you can see the problem with America. Just read how judgmental people are with everything. Everyone thinks they know best. Instead of fixing the worlds problems fix your own.
