Amar'e Stoudemire calls killer's manifesto a 'must read' via Twitter

Amar'e Stoudemire's literary recommendations may not have the reach of Oprah's Book Club but the New York Knicks forward stuck out his neck by hyping the crazed manifesto of ex-cop turned murderer Christopher Dorner as a "must read."

The Knicks star posted a link to the ex-LAPD cop's manifesto on his Twitter page Sunday with the words: "Interesting. This is a must read."

Dorner addressed his declaration of war on the LAPD "to America."

In his disturbing 20-page rant Dorner left on his Facebook page, the fired cop rails against police corruption in the LAPD, and paints himself as victim of racism for reporting a sergeant for brutality and crossing the thin blue line.

The disgraced cop killed himself inside a burning cabin on a California mountain after killing four people as revenge and becoming a fugitive for 10 days.

Stoudemire wasn't specific on his tweet but some of the player's 806,000 Twitter followers were a little  peeved by his nightstand recommendation.

"Really?! A murderer's hateful manifesto is worth reading?" one follower tweeted back.

Stoudemire is entitled to his own reading choices but he might want to leave this social media tome on the shelf.

    3. You obviously have no grasp of grammer is used. A sentence ends with one period not three.

  4. Agree 100%. N0 issue. Few people in the world would defend the murderer. It's good he ended it and we did not have to see him in the news for the next 5 years. The read though, was truly highly interesting, and provides a great deal of insight. It was hard to put down. I agree with Amare.

  5. I read it and I agree it is a must read. A lot of bad things happened to him that helped to push him over the edge. There's a lot of truth in Dorner's ramblings.

    1. So you take the admitted ramblings of a cold blooded murderer as uncomprimised truth? Wow. Please tell me you take a murderers word to explain why he killed INNOCENT people (not the people he actually had a problem with) in cold blood? You guys are a joke.

  6. He's entitled to his own opinion. He just said it was a must read and I would agree. I bet you after you posted what you said you probably read it yourself. Amar not a murderer so stop judging him. He's just a man with a opinion. I wont defend CD but LA Cops has had a bad reputation for a very longtime especially with minorities.

  7. IT IS a must read..that DOES NOT MEAN that you support the killers resolution to his problems. He cracked under immense racial prejudices and what he perceived as a character assasignation and cover up by those whose respect he worked all his life to gain.He very articulately details evidence of his mistreatment, how and where the media could find proof of his accusations etc. A very very sad situation, dispicable acts against the innocent and I'm sure still nothing learned by those who continue to despise and mistreat a race of people. The mind is fragile-some more fragile than others, be careful of your words and how you treat people. You never know how it will manifest itself down the road. My prayers for the souls whose lives he took.

  8. He is entitled to his own opinion. However, because he embraces his status as a celebrity and enjoys those benefits,he can expect a potential explosion of controversy every time he opens his mouth,if all the opinions of the world descend on him, tough shite, true for any celebrity, safest thing to do is let people love you for your ability as an athlete, singer, actor etc....you want to use that platform for something other than for what it was created, then expect unpleasant consequences.

  10. Well said. If he had gone after the people who were corrupt in his department then his manifesto might have been taken seriously, and an investigation into his claims might have happened. But revenge killings of innocent people removes credibility of any thing hes had to say. He will be rembered as a cold blooded murderer as he should be. The shame is we all know many police departments cover up police brutallity, and if anyone dosen't believe it there are plenty of witness accounts on the internet with videos
